Soul Sacrifice Review | Press Start Australia

John at Press Start Australia writes: "Soul Sacrifice is a great game, the emphasis on trying diversify itself from typical RPG tropes and even the effort behind it's story make it an experience any RPG fan should try out. Unfortunately it has really poor AI, small enemy variety and bad English voice acting that feels rushed to say the least. These things stop it from being something truly special."

ZTGD | Soul Sacrifice (Vita) Review

Added: 16.05.2013 14:18 | 8 views | 0 comments

Ryan Wombold writes: Soul Sacrifice is the timeless story eternally retold of a prisoner, locked up by an evil sorcerer, who finds a magical talking book (that cries collectable tears) which happens to contain the story of a sorcerer from the past. Reliving that sorcerers story through the book allows players to gain a measure of his power, with the ultimate goal of besting their captor and escaping confinement. Ok, so maybe its not a timeless story endlessly retold, but it certainly is an interesting one. Its also one that Soul Sacrifice takes great care to ensure players get sucked into. With unique, engaging game play to go along with the narrative this is a sacrifice Vita owners will certainly be willing to make.

Soul Sacrifice Soundtrack Review

Added: 13.05.2013 21:14 | 13 views | 0 comments

Soul Sacrifice is a decently critically acclaimed role-playing game for the Vita, a genre that the handheld has desperately needed. And with every good RPG, a great original soundtrack should be accompanying it. I haven't played Soul Sacrifice as of yet, but it didn't stop me from snagging the soundtrack as soon as Sony announced it was available for puchase. To me, what makes or breaks a soundtrack is whether the listener can enjoy the album without having played the game and if it's audibly pleasing outside the game context. The Soul Sacrifice original soundtrack passes both tests with ease.

Soul Sacrifice Review | Worth Playing

Added: 13.05.2013 20:17 | 15 views | 0 comments

Worth Playing: "Soul Sacrifice is forever doomed to stand in the shadow of its big brother. Inafune may have created some of Capcom's most enduring games, but in this case, he comes in second to his old company's offerings. With that said, Soul Sacrifice still has a lot going for it. The combat is fun, and the basic ideas are flawed but interesting. Someone looking for a Monster Hunter game after finishing all of the available Monster Hunter titles will likely have a good time with Soul Sacrifice."

Soul Sacrifice Review | Gaming Union

Added: 11.05.2013 17:17 | 24 views | 0 comments

Gaming Union: "Soul Sacrifice manages to break away from the mould of mission based beast hunting titles and successfully carve a name for itself. It's a game with deep strategic gameplay that makes you plan, build, and master what abilities you can get your hands on. This is complimented by a strong online mode that's great to play with friends. While palette swapping monsters and reused zones are a disappointment, the overall obvious effort in design makes up for it. While it's not for everyone (as with any mission based game), for those looking for a deep experience on the Vita, check it out. It may be a stretch to classify Soul Sacrifice as a system seller, but if you have a Vita or getting one, you may want to look into it."

Soul Sacrifice Creator Talks Tough Decisions

Added: 10.05.2013 20:06 | 16 views | 0 comments

Chances are pretty good that, if you you're playing Soul Sacrifice, you are now pretty familiar with the act of sacrificing your friend in order to deliver a devastating final blow to a massive enemy. According to game creator Keiji Inafune, that type of decision forces the player to experience an emotional reaction, something he wanted to be a big focus in his latest game for the PlayStation Vita.
